At 28:25, the reason using apt didn't work to uninstall obsidian is because Linux Mint comes with two package managers by default (I think). Flatpak and apt, Flatpak is a package format meant to work on any linux distro. Since Obsidian was installed as a flatpak, you would need to run "flatpak uninstall obsidian" and it should work. Packaging formats can be a little confusing at times. Great video!

coil whine happens when you are running things at 400-1000+ fps it happens due to generating that many frames per second. it doesn't harm the gpu but is normal when you have uncapped fps or when the gpu ussage is on max

I remember when KDE was clunkier than GNOME and it defaulted to single-click to open stuff. In the old days it felt like some pathetic attempt at copying Windows with some bad decisions from OS X and its own couple original bad decisions thrown in there for good measure, to make sure it didn't infringe on Microsoft's patents or something (or maybe just because the authors were insane.) It's great to see the project get its act together with Plasma. Yeah yeah it's "bloated" or whatever, so is modern GNOME so who cares; if you want lightweight windows then just use xfce. Sure, KDE's not perfect, but no DE is, and I think it (and arguably GNOME) offer way more to the end user than what Windows and macOS do. As for my limited experience with Arch, I have found it to be nothing but inconvenient compared to a Debian-based system. Debian is so much more stable and reliable, and if I ever need something newer than what the official repos provide, or even newer than what some community apt repos provide, I can just build it myself. If you're inexperienced with compiling your own software, then you're not going to have a good time with all the manual configuration Arch will force you to do, so who cares if the AUR has bleeding edge packages for whatever some other Arch user got working on his own machine and then turned into a package because he's a masochist, you're not gonna have a good time installing them so the whole appeal is moot. I get the appeal of standardizing and centralizing install scripts over people just hosting their own apt repos, but in practice, I find that anytime anyone has something they want to share that's actually stable and works on most systems, they build a deb for it, and either make that available in a repo somewhere or at least distribute the deb file. They might also have it up on the AUR but if it was good and stable enough and they cared about the most people benefiting from it possible, they probably took the 10-20 minutes it takes to hack together a deb package out of their build process and the day or two of testing it on various Debian configurations before publishing it somewhere. For the few exceptions where this isn't the case... I'd rather just build from source. I am curious why SteamOS changed to being based on Arch, though. Maybe because they make it immutable, they figure it's fine to provide a crappy user experience for anyone trying to customize it in any meaningful way, and maybe it has some fringe benefit relevant to the Steam Deck's hardware, or is just Valve developers' own personal preference, to make it be a better base than Fedora or whatever they used to use.
